Well I had one for 20 years or more, it is absolutly a life saving machine. I inow many long term users, never heard one complain about getting a good night sleep, or having a heart attack or stroke from not breathing. Yes i get dry mouth, but the medication im on can and does cause that as well. With the excelent choices of masks now and the improvement of devices...

I've just recently received a CPAP and haven't yet started to use it. But I've also just received a CD program called "Singing for Snorers" which is documented as reducing apnea for people with mild to moderate sleep apnea. It uses singing to strengthen the muscles of the mouth and throat, which can reduce apnea episodes. I intend to use both and lose weight as well. I definitely have no intention of being tied to a CPAP machine the rest of my life, if there are alternative ways to treat the problem. Now, if it turns out I absolutely need a CPAP, then well, I'll certainly use it. But I'm still going to explore other treatments (none of which, of course, were discussed by my doctor.)

What you call side effects I call inexperienced user figuring out what works for them. The right mask, the right pressure, the right sleeping position, the right humidification level. Benefits of CPAP versus “side effects” - no contest all at. Sleeping without a CPAP would literally kill me…

The benefits surpasses the side effects as I have realized, that you need to be on treatment if u suffer fro. Sleep apnea

Bloating, gas, stomach pain. It has caused gastritis and has decreased my ability to play my bagpipes. 😢

I have been using CPAP and corrective mouth pieces for 8 months. According to my machine data, my sleep stoppages have been hugely reduced from 50 per minute to under 10 per minute. Great news, but I have got no relief in how my head feels when I wake up. My brain feels cloudy, heavy, foggy, like waking up after taking a powerful sleeping pill. And this uncomfortable feeling is staying with me 24/7. It is just as bad as when I am not using the CPAP at all. Sort of defeats the purpose of these tools when there has been no improvement in the quality of my mind when I get up. My eyes are as dry as a desert, and my head feels the same way...baked. Is it more likely caused by the machine (leakage) or a problem which the CPAP isn't addressing, like obstructive apnea or another brain issue altogether?

I get sick every time I use it. Tried 5 times then have to stop for days to weeks. This modern day iron lung is horrible. I'm still dying no matter what I do. Quality of life matters.

It's pronounced C-PAP, not C-P-A-P.

I am supposed to use it but, after giving it a try, I could not keep it on all night and it was constantly leaking. It did not seem to make a difference anyway. I do not keep falling asleep all the time and the technician blamed me when I said I toss around a lot on my sleep saying everyone else was OK with it. She also fudged my score so I more or.less stuck up two fingers and refused to see her again sending a letter to the whole department. Most people when you ask around do not use th even when issued. Who wants to sleep in a mask anyway? There is a new method that has been tried at Guy's Hospital, London but only 3 have been done and it would cost £17, 500. Maybe AI can come up with something

I hope nobody watches this and feels discouraged from getting a CPAP machine. If you know what utter misery sleep apnea is - waking up exhausted every day, waking up heaving for breath and your heart racing many times a night, the headaches etc, then having a bit of a rash from a mask strap is nothing.
CPAP literally changes and saves lives.

My dry mouth is not caused by air leaks in the mask, it's from mouth breathing which was not even addressed in this video. I use a BiPap and tried turning up the humidity but this did not help and my mask and hose would accu water and gurgle. So, far the only solution I have found is to tape my mouth to force myself to breathe through the nose and this is working rather well. I asked my dentist about the dry mouth problem and he just prescribed me a heavily fluoride toothpaste to use at bedtime that I don't want to use due to its toxicity. So far, the mouth tape seems to be the way to go, any other suggestions?

Great, more of what the club of hypochondriacs need to hear and the cpap social media influencers who like to hype their fears

this video title is misleading... Side effects from poor setup and use. NOT the device. It took some time for me to get my total operation good. Lowered pressure. Keep mouth closed. I wear shapewear to help empty lungs at exhale. Humidifier adjustment to eliminate sinus dryness. Been good for years. Life improver. Only true sideffect is lazy diaphragm during the day. insufficient breath taking - I am conscious of breathing to keep o2 levels good sometimes.

"C---P---A---P"? Who the hell says it like that? AI does. And, ignorant people that literally don't know what they're talking about. Blocking this channel... there are enough stupid things that come across the home page feed. Don't need this channel ever again.
