As a dermatologist we see common skin care mistakes that can easily be rectified with some knowledge and implementation.

Make up - never ever go to sleep with make up on. Sure coverage is super important, but giving your skin time to breathe is equally as important. This can help with breakouts, congestion and acne.

Cleansing: Twice a day. That is it. Double cleanse if you need to remove makeup. Use simple cleansers like Cetaphil, La Roche Posay, QV and others. Do not over do it as this can impair you skin barrier function, leading to sensitive skin, dermatitis, eczema, and others.

The best thing to happen to me was get severe acne when I was 19 and my dermatologist put me on Accutane and educated me on sunscreen. I'm 34 now and been wearing sunscreen ever since.

I clean my skin only at night, double cleanse with balm or oil and then cream cleanser, once or twice a week glycolic cleanser. And also avoid fragrance/perfume in the skin care products, it sensitizes the skin and it gets irritated eventually, pay attention to labels :) Thank you Dr Lim for the great video

THANK YOU for doing the sunscreen math! I've been saying forever that a tsp on the face and another on the neck re-applied 3 times a day would mean a tube in less than a week! Ugh! And the good ones are all 20eur plus a tube, that's like 100eur a month just on sunscreen. I know it's important, but let's be reasonable here people... Anyway, loved the video Dr. 😊

So helpful! I know sunscreen is important, but I still regularly leave the house without putting it on, because I hate it. I’ve recently started investing in skincare to take better care of my mature skin, and it really hit home when you said that I’m basically wasting my money every time I neglect to put sunscreen on. When I last visited my Dermatologist yes in deed he asked about sunscreen. My answer is I apply sunscreen each and everyday. I don’t count on sunscreen listed in the foundation. And I know what I applied from the two doesn’t give me a higher SPF. I figure it will help cover anyplace I was a little light with the sunscreen. Thanks 😊

Ugh! I wish you're my dermatologist. Mine talks to me for less than 5min and just give me prescription, and tells me to come back after a month for follow up. $150 x 4 later, still no improvement. I will start implementing everything I watched on your channel esp the diet part (sugar and dairy), and not using too much skin products. Thank you so much for being so genuine.

WE just got a new retinoid on the market. It's called Trifarotene (Aklief) I just got mine and I'm excited to compare it to tretinoin, adapalene and tazarotene. I've used those interchangeably for the last 13 years.

One question every dermatologist seems to avoid is how to correctly reapply sunscreen. Especially being outside or your face being greasy. Reapplying sunscreen over a “dirty” face just seems messy and cakey.
