Worst Skincare Mistakes My Patients Make

Показать описание
I see patients making the same mistakes with their skin care over and over. Today I decided to pull together a list of the most common skincare mistakes I see from them, covering a wide range of dermatological issues. We discuss things like popping pimples, charcoal masks, skincare trends, hydration, moisturizer, shaving, alcohol based products, sweat, pore health, sunscreen and SPF, exfoliating scrubs, and so much more. Have you made any of these skin care mistakes, or maybe you’ve found a treatment plan that works right for you? Let me know in the comments!

I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

the sponsor was so well placed in the video you couldn't tell if he's placing a sponsored ad or is genuinely recommending the product

I can attest to the hot shower part. Once I started taking more cold showers, I noticed a lot of improvement in my skin.
That and not drying my face with anything after washing it.... not a towel, dedicated face cloth etc. I just air dry and my face texture has remained very smooth ever since.

I MADE IT IN A DR MIKE VIDEO and its a video of me showing why you shouldn't use these tools! I sacrificed my skin for the viewers haha!

If the skin is its own organ doesn’t that mean whenever you get a injury it counts as organ damage?

I've had cystic acne along my chin and just under my nose that didn't clear up (almost) completely until menopause. I was looking through some old pictures recently and realized I've had the same exact same zit showing up in the same exact place in various states of inflammation ... FOR YEARS. I think whenever I did squeeze it - I did exercise some restraint over the years- it pushed some of that sebum gunk down deeper into the follicle, and that's what kept resurfacing every few months. Upon this realization, instead of squeezing, I doused it with salicylic acid a couple times a day for 2-3 months until the bump finally receded. Finally it's healed for good. Longest zit ever.

Love seeing all the James Welsh fans jumping in to acknowledge he frequently sacrifices his own skin to show us why NOT to follow internet trends 💜💜💜

I think it's good to acknowledge that the clip at 2:02 is James Welsh who cares a lot about skincare and his conclusion is not to use machines like that and he talks about all the negative side effects.

To clarify, the clip of James welsh was from a video where he tried the pore vaccum, in which he says he doesn't like it as it is ineffective and left his skin irratated and damaged

My skin is in ROUGH shape. I had a long depressive episode during the pandemic where I didn't care for myself, especially my skin and diet. My skin got so bad I still have scars all around the outside of my face from it. I'm trying to take better care of it now, and this video is just what I needed. I'm gonna try moisturizing more, limiting the picking, etc and see how it goes.
Thanks Dr. M, keep saving lives! ♥️

#13 as someone who suffers with dematillomania, it's not as easy as you think. It's often an obsessive need to pick. Especially when stressed or upset.
