What's so cool about this ending is that all the passengers First Class Passengers, Second Class Passengers, and Third Class Passengers are all gathered in the First Class Grand Staircase symbolizing that in death everyone is equal regardless of First Class, Second Class, and Third Class. Her lover Jack Dawson, Shipbuilder Thomas Andrews, Rose's First Class Passenger friend Molly Brown (even though she doesn't appear), and Rose's Third Class Passenger friends Tommy Ryan, and Fabrizo De Rossi are all in the Grand Staircase.
In the end Jack Dawson, Thomas Andrews, Molly Brown, Thomas Ryan, and Fabrizo De Rossi are Rose's real friends, real and only friends.
It's a good thing Rose broke away from Cal and her toxic mother Ruth.

The greatest ending to the greatest movie-going experience of my life. Titanic was even more spectacular in IMAX 3D.

There have been many great endings in film history. Rhett tells Scarlett off, Rick sends Ilsa away, we finally see Rosebud, Michael accepts his role as the Godfather as the door shuts on Kay, etc. But this one scene will always be the best.
