I argue with people about this all the time. It makes more sense that she died! This is not a dream she's having! Jack said "you're going to die alone, warm in your bed" and that's exactly what it's showing!

The crowd is not applauding just for their reunion but for the result of what Jack and Rose did out of love. They applauded Jack for loving Rose regardless of her rich status, lack of world experience, and sacrificing himself so she can live. They applauded Rose for lying to Cal so Jack wouldn't get mistreated for saving her life when she was ready to end it, interacting with a low-class American, falling for him and trusting him, and keeping her promise to live a long life. These are the reasons the crowd applauded for, not just the reunion. Imagine the angels today getting ready to applaud us because of what we do out of love. May we all learn to not live in hatred, regrets, acts of division, but live with love, taking risks, courage, understanding and inclusion. Love wins always, and saves many. Let's pay it forward starting now, please.
