Titanic - Alternate Ending

Titanic is a 1997 American epic romance and disaster film directed, written, co-produced and co-edited by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.

Gosh, whilst it's nice to see this ending; whoever made the artistic choice to delete this entire sequence definitely saved the movie. There's literally no need for any other characters to be in the necklace sequence.

Honestly I would have done this scene very differently. At the end of the story I would have had Rose give him the 'Heart of the Ocean' . But he was so moved by the story that he places the Heart of the Ocean on Titanic as a form of memorial to them. Rose giving him the Heart was essentially her passing on the legacy of the Titanic to him as he helped her bring closure. And he returns the heart to the Ocean as a way to bring closer to the story. Because at the end of it all he remembers that this is a story about human tragedy and not about seeking lost treasure. I think, a perfect ending to cover all the bases.

This ending downplays the severity of the tragedy kind of a lot. Very glad Cameron didn't go with this. But, I'm still glad it's out there to watch, because I love that it ends more lighthearted in this one

The reason this would have made sense is only for them to become aware of her being who she stated she was! That she was sincerely the woman in the drawing without any doupt if they hadn't believed her story in the first place..that diamond would prove who she was from the begining without us having to learn all this dramatic story that moves me everytime ...
