I love this game, but you can literally buy gold with real money. Then buy all the things you want on the market. Doesn't get much more clear than that.

I think there's debate for both sides and will breakdown by end game. How much does fast travel cost? Will it add up significantly by end game? How long are crafting times usually and will 10% be a significant difference or is it short windows so smaller difference? Convenience is convenient unless the time differences are significant.

I know in game shop is ok but problem I'm seeing is Mari's secret shop. Fomo short sales with significant items and cash to gems for legendary cards for stat boons. I've not had any motivation to dive in as of yet.

Balanced pvp is the best part of the game but I want to be competitive in pve and I hear it's hard as total f2p player to do. I'll likely try it with friends as it looks cool but I don't see it becoming a primary game. Last Epoch is just head and shoulders better.

"it's complicated" is something you answered with when your buddies asked you about your relationship in high school 😂 i mean the veterans themselves say it's kinda p2w. Why would it even be surprising considering :

1. It's an MMORPG
2. that is f2p
3. It's Korean, and Asia is the world capital of P2W. Different mentality and approach.

That being said it's still kinda fun (can't believe I'm saying this), but i guess it all comes down to the community you're playing with. If you play with decent people, every game is more fun.

Will do as something to have fun with while waiting for Last Epoch, or PoE 2.

To pay real money to get in-game benefits you can also buy Singleplayer rpg and use cheat engine to get unlimited ressources and get everything.
The question is: why would you even play if you get anything on demand.
It is the path and process through the game which makes it funny and challengeable somehow.

You can get most of that stuff in the game, except for aurora, the lvl 50 starter pack is even better than the vanquisher and it doesn’t cost real money

Its more pay for convenience like how game publishers like to put it, korean ftp games are generally a big no.

i think any time u can use in game currency to buy the things is not pay to win, u can exchange gold( in game currency) for gems to buy all the shop items

it is pay to win. Everything that offers advantage to paying players and not just vanity is pay to win by default. You can sugar coat it for kids but in my 5 decades I've seen it all in that regard. You wont see it because you pay to win by default from day one. (I get that you need to because of what you do). edit: Think about it: people that payed to play earlier already have an advantage. That's pay to win.

I was so hyped to play, lvl 28., 32 hours. And its boring, same copy paste quest. Everything is so easy, dies in one shot. I had more fun playing Wolcen

Myea ... Pay to progress is better to say.. but you still have to grind like hell which it will feel as a damned job ! Oh and I played the 3 days at the head start and lost everything due to the fact that my friends could not play on the server because they closed the server for new players... I would like to transfer my character from there but ...

you can play for free, if you like the game, give the company money to get some extra stuff from the shop. no problem with that...

I thought if you enjoyed playing a game it is worth it. No matter if others p2w a so called rpg. What are they winning really, I enjoy accomplishing things others paid to do, makes me feel I'm better skilled. It all boils down to ones own perception of winning, I played WOT for a long time on a free account and enjoyed every minute of it. Was sometimes a letdown when you lost to player using heat rounds, then realizing he basically has to cheat to beat my skill made me smile.
