I've been building a home fit for a family of foxes. Fingers crossed I'll be able to film cubs soon.

Filming foxes
I’ve been filming red foxes with my friend Col for years and we've captured some incredible moments in his town garden.

Artificial fox den
To encourage the foxes to stay in his garden we built a den and this has been an amazing place for the cubs to play and rest but we’ve never had a female give birth inside.

Renovations
This year I hope to entice her by making the den as comfortable a spot as possible. First I add some branches to make it look more natural and then I create a hollow in the bottom of the den and then break up the compacted soil. I think this is now fit for a fox family.

Fox dog & vixen inspect
It’s not long before we get our first visitors and when they start grooming, I take it as a sign that they’re really relaxed here.

Now for fox cubs
Since the renovation the cameras even caught the fox pair mating. Hopefully this means we’ll be lucky enough to watch them raise a family here in the near future.

When taking care of my mom, there was a family of 6 cubs living under my mom's shed..Playing, chasing each other..Long since moved due to my mom's passing, New folks bought her house and put a wooden fence around the property ❤🦊❤..I look forward to seeing this family develop..TY Mr Fuller❤

You inspired me to want to become a Wildlife Conservationist

We've had fox cubs in our woodpile the past two years, although they haven't been born there. The first year they stayed only a few days before their mom moved them on. Last year they stayed a week or more. I suspect they're back and she's likely having her cubs here this year as I had trouble getting my dog away from the woodpile this morning. She kept sniffing right in front of it. Later in the morning she found a freshly killed rabbit's head in that area and brought it back inside (YUCK!). I took that as confirmation the foxes are back in residence.
