Excel inplace SAP GUI - Work with Excel in SAP GUI 🚀

You can use Microsoft Excel in the SAP GUI. Excel is the most widely used spreadsheet program and is also useful for SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA. Especially in finance (SAP FI and SAP CO), Excel is still used today to perform numerous calculations and evaluations in a flexible way. As soon as you select Excel as output, the Microsoft Excel program opens and the data is displayed outside of the SAP GUI.

In this video, I will show you step-by-step how to set up Excel in SAP GUI so that the program is displayed directly inside SAP GUI. These instructions can also be used for Microsoft Word if you want to display Word inside the SAP GUI.

Good to know. I prefer the ALV Grid Control or SAP functionality. But for SAP FI Excel is THE tool 😊

Can you make the inplace excel as a default option for any report e.g iw28, iw38 etc? In your demo the excel was already loading up when you execute the tcode. What if the default is alv, how could I change that to load in inplace excel instead? I am using the shortcut &vexcel to load the data into excel instead of alv… couldn’t find any option of the menu.
