I hear Californians say, "Don't visit our beaches if you don't like us", and I agree. The first time I went to Cali, I saw drug addicts shooting up in nice areas and the beach restrooms toilets had flooded over with human waste.

The amount that you’re paid per hour typically matches the state you live in and their economy. I think a woman explained how her job in NY gets her six figures but after everything is taken out, she could only comfortably afford a studio apartment compared to with her income in TX, she could afford herself a two story house.

Lower cost of living = lower pay
Higher cost of living = higher pay
It’s essentially the same.
Making 20 an hour in New York is like making 15 an hour in Texas. If you raise the wages guess what? Cost of living goes up with it. Your paycheck might look bigger but it’s essentially the same as your smaller paycheck. Don’t get how people don’t understand this yet 🤦🏻‍♂️

This is the biggest argument I get into with everyone who decides they want to move out of state. They will literally look up everything about the state except for economy based things and most importantly the laws!!!

I live in Houston, and now the prices here have gone up a lot. Too many people came from California (and other states) and have happily paid high prices for homes. Now, Texas isn’t as cost friendly as it used to be. Nothing against the people who migrated from California, but it’s a very unfortunate situation for the Texans.

Im a native Texan, dating a native Californian. Its a challenge sometimes but I still love her 😂 I showed her how to crack a pecan and taste honeysuckle, she taught me how to order starbucks and save money.
