The lucidity and simplicity of this explanation is truly fantastic. The amount of times you will come across unnecessarily algebraic explanations in introductory set theory and probability books really is embarrassing.

I get that more formal proofs are needed if you want to be more rigorous with your algebra of sets - but so many texts pretend to be "introductions" and yet they fail in getting the message across, because they are unable to SHOW what is meant, and instead they think it is important to try and prove it right at the beginning, as if a new learner somehow feels more convinced by a proof of something which is presented in a very abstract manner.
