Here's the literal breakdown of the question:
Since, my birthday falls in the month of December, the probability of the Event A of having my birthday in the month of December = 1, as it is a certain/ sure event. Means, the probability of the Event B of having my birthday in any of the months, except December will be = 0, as it is an impossible event.
For my friend's birthday, having a birthday in December is uncertain of which the probability of the respective event is to be found.

There are 12 months in a year, out of which our birthday (me and my friend) falls in the month of December.
Therefore, the required event will be having the same birthday month/ birthday in the month of December.

Since, the exact day has not been mentioned, my and my friend's birthday could be on any of the 31 days. But here, we are on our way to find the probability of having both of our birthdays in just the month of December, and not on the same day
Means, to find the probability of having birthdays in a month.

Total no. of possible outcomes/ natural space = 12 (total months)
And, the number of outcomes that are favourable to the event = 1 ( single month of December ).

Means, it is given that my birthday is in the month of December, to have the same birthday month for my friend, the event of having same birthday month will take place, when if and only if both of our birthdays fall in the month of December, or else, we would say the required event didn't take place.
We know, an event E takes place only and only when event (not E) didn't take place.
Therefore,
P(E) = (no. of outcomes favourable to the event of the experiment) / (total no. of possible outcomes)




P(E) = 1/12
Means, in a year of 12 months, both of us can share the same birthday month, which is only one, that is, December.
