According to reviews from China, the game is 30-50 hrs long (main story + some side stuff(definitely not all side contents)). About 40% of the content is hidden, some side quests are hidden really really deep, and there is also extra content for NG+.

Some average player's playthrough impressions:
1.Thanks to the invitation from Game Science, I got to experience the full version of Black Myth: Wukong in advance.
After playing, I just want to say that this game is truly a milestone for Chinese video games! The diverse combat systems and details make Black Myth's combat develop its own unique style!
The last time I played, the Black Wind Mountain was the smallest level in the entire game, yet it had such a grand scale!
Each level is filled with stunning grand scenery, and the artistic design is absolutely top-notch.
Everyone will see what I mean on the 20th.
Although the map is too large and the lack of signposts made navigation a bit difficult, the rich content made the gameplay incredibly engaging!
There are tons of hidden content waiting to be discovered during exploration, and even the boss fights are part of the hidden content. The jaw-dropping combat system makes the battles truly epic.
So, seeing the overseas reviews was a bit surprising to me... Maybe we UP reviewers didn’t consider the overseas media as much.
All in all, Black Myth: Wukong is a game that, in my mind, is worthy of competing for the game of the year.

Black Myth: Wukong is a top-tier triple-A video game, and it can stand shoulder to shoulder with any game in the world, sharing the same stage without feeling inferior, and even outshining others in certain aspects. Game Science has created a miracle. The level and map design of Wukong far exceeded my expectations—they are complex and intricate, with some side quests deeply hidden, requiring thorough exploration and thought to uncover.
Some domestic and foreign media, with their colored lens and biased reviews, might nitpick, but I can confidently say that the eyes of gamers around the world will be brightened by this game. After the 820 demo, everyone can rest assured and look forward to it with complete confidence!

2:42 Don't know how much of the story the game will guide you through, but WHEN you beat the game, and you still dont have a good grasp of the lore, there is a YouTube channel called "Overly Sarcastic Productions" where they summarize the history and info of the actual text with cool animatics! It's how I got to know more about Son Wu Kong and teh Journey to The West. (They also cover info on other myths if you would be interested in that too.)
