Yes. Goku is Japanese for wukong. Its why he has a tail, can transfrom, why sayains have ape forms and he why he can ride ride the nimbus cloud

Yeah, Wukong is the original OP character. The dude wage a one man war against heaven and hell and cause so much chaos, his name is synonymous with fear through heaven and earth. Also he won that war. The Buddha himself have to come down and intervene before he literally flip the heaven upside down, and finally seal him under the mountain for 500 years. Everyone is scared shitless of the guy. The only reason the journey take as long as it did, is because Wukong have to restrain himself from senseless killing, learn compassion and sympathy. Journey to the West is more about Wukong then the rest of the cast.

Oh he is virtually immortal btw. Nothing can kill him.

Now see, in game mechanics Sun Wukong can transform into his defeated enemies in order to absorb them. However in the novel Sun Wukong can literally just look you one time in the eye and make 80, 000 clones of you and sit and watch you as you fight his clones of you and the clones of you will all equal your strength.
