After watching this i started using 9v battery's to active solenoids on hydraulic control valves. I've even stacked them in series to active a 24v starter on large diesel engine to do valve adjustments. Works awesome. Nice little trick 👌

And... relays can get stuck, and a couple of them on/off cycles with the 9v battery you just did would reset it. Nice vid.

I find with them green and blue relays on bmws if you just take off the cover you will see if the contacts are OK or not they normally leave a black burn mark on the inside of the cover but I must say the 9 volt battery is a great idea 👍

Wow Darren what a neat check. First time I’ve see that sort of test. I’ve got extra relays so I will go check it out. Also have plenty of 9V batteries. Darren I truenjoy all your videos. You don’t get involved with all the high tech mumbo jumbo and 12K $ scanners and scopes. What you have shown and taught me is great. Thanks buddy much appreciated. Stay safe and well Artie 😊👍

Test resistance of the coil as well as load test.

A very good demonstration except you left out the threshold between good and bad. Are we suppose to guess, or what's the point. What is good value and what is a bad value ?

Nice little video, one of many reasons i keep a pack of 9v batteries. For the really confused they'll want to know which way round to connect the battery 🤣

Keep up the good work with the videos.

That would be a good quick test but certainly would not be able to determine if the relay contacts can handle the load which is something that I often run into.
