The amount set for Social Security, for my generation is nowhere near enough to survive today. I’m dying here one month at a time slow death 71 years old with a Social Security check just barely enough to pay my mortgage.

Long-winded bureaucratic BS from failed Dem presidential candidate & unpopular former MD governor. 😕
He was at loose ends & got stuck in this gig for no apparent reason.

That is not true. I have been dealing with social security for 20+ years and to call them better have a day cleared because it will take 2 to 3 hours.

I waited 2 hours and 10 minutes today on the phone (after being told it was a 90 minute wait). What is this Russia. Unacceptable. Fire and destroy the system and start over. What ineptitude!!!

I worked for SSA for 20 years. As soon as trump got elected in 2016, the backlog started going down. Employees, ALJs especially, were afraid of trump, and the cases pending were at all-time lows. The economy was doing better, and as such, the SSA Trust Fund (which pays the retirement benefits) was also recovering.

Just get back to the office because working at home is a luxury the majority of government employees don’t have and shouldn’t have because they are not above the American people. They are are not privileged to stay at home!

What's up with Fetterman wearing a hoodie in Chambers? That looks disrespectful. At least he didn't tell everyone Goodnight.

Incompetence on a grand scale is rampant in government offices. A decent tech team could find a better option. A 3-5 min wait is now 33-35 min.

That’s so funny that the leadership of Social Security is saying we are open to suggestions they’re supposed to be the experts pursuing excellence, rather than waiting for someone else to tell them what to do.

We had a *very simple* filing. We were getting a refund and it was estimated to be refunded on 02/23. On 3/18 we got a notice it was being reviewed. Really, a very basic return. Not much to review. All was there on my husbands W2 and my social security, there is NOTHING ELSE. We are still waiting on the refund. 3/30.
