The Republican vice-presidential candidate rejects the idea that he’s changed, defends his rhetoric and still won’t say if Trump lost in 2020.

I can't believe how many times this lady asked "why are you happy sometimes, but sad or angry at others?" It's like she's never met a human being in her life.

It’s beautiful to see how poorly this went for the NYT.

Her bias is oozing out of her, it's so embarrassing as a journalist

Scrolling through comments for ten minutes and all loving JD and bashing the journo. Love to see it.

This confirms that he is certainly not weird. Very poised and well articulated.

Vance handled this like a pro. Now Lulu, please interview Kamala and Waltz with the same tone, vigor an focus. Don't forget to do follow-ups and please interrupt them and ask "Yes", "No" questions and keep asking them if they don't answer. Just for the sake of fairness and equality.

I was reserved about this guy at first, but he is actually one of the best politicians in the US right now, together with Vivek.

JD is a master at this. Her obviously targeted questions got spun so expertly. The fact that he always wears a smirk is just icing on the cake. 🤺 Touché Vance.

I used to believe JFK was the best with the press, but let's face it JD is the GOAT

She unabashedly admitted on air that illegal immigration is being used deliberately as a wage suppressant levied against the American workforce with no regrets whatsoever. She basically despises everyone who doesn't have a bourgeois desk job. How out of touch can you get?

“JD, we have portrayed you as being very mean. Why were you not very mean to Walz? That must have been a sneaky tactic, right?”

"We need cheap labor for our economy" is the same logic used by the slave-owning South. Where's the moral outrage at the exploitation?

Independent here. 21 minutes into the interview now. I think my major issue with this structure and the questions-however well constructed they are to really dig into the mainstream political questions surrounding Vance-is that I really don't see any other politician, whether it be Kamala or Tim Walz, receiving this kind of treatment. 60 minutes was badly chopped, hard to watch, and I STILL didn't gain much from Kamala's answers. I'd actually like it if all politicians were interviewed like this, all the time. That's just not happening.

What's amazing me is how welcoming JD Vance is being in answering these questions regarding the violation of his privacy from Sofia Nelson and his faith(the bit about not speaking for Christians/Catholics is SO refreshing, I tire of celebrity converts suddenly representing the whole), in spite of the Interviewer not really establishing empathy, grace, or even an actual conversational tone. This feels clinical to me, like the interviewer can't believe a politician could change their mind about anything-certainly not Trump! Or could have a positive view of transgender people as a whole, but find the prospect of ill-studied, prepubescent, chemical treatment appalling.

I'll finish the interview purely because I feel like I'm ACTUALLY learning more about JD Vance here, and I'd love if other politicians welcomed this format. He must be the best actor out of Trump, Tim, and Kamala because nobody else has managed to convey themselves to me as well.

Edit: Still going through the interview. Now she's just straight up challenging every assertion, it feels like, and interrupting him while doing so. Love the challenging, hate the interruptions. I just clicked out of a KH and Howard Stern interview where its obnoxiously one-sided. Again, the pushback is just not proportional.

“To work in construction??” 😂 her tone says it all. I’m the only one in my family that didn’t go to college. Both my sisters went to college and still have debt. Guess what i did? Went into construction and made money

I love JD Vance! He’s so sharp in responding truthfully and with kindness! He knows how to deal with offensive, accusatory interviewers like the one here trying to trip JD up!
Kudos to JD Vance! He’s the best!!
