Just curious if I can apply gold gilt and then apply copper gilt on top of that for a "two tone" effect?

Pure Silver does not tarnish. Sterline sliver will tarnish because it contains 7.75 percent copper

Watching many tutorials, I saw one where they used wax paper to pick up and transfer the leaf sheets. Perhaps that will help. I haven't tried yet myself.
