Doom being an adopted Tony raised in Latveria after his parents earlier death to Hydra would mame more sense. Have this version be one where Hydra won WW2 or something. Hell, they can even be on vacation in Latveria to make it an easy transition

Best theory there is. The Anchor being in 616 is the tony who died as a child/ from birth, which means weve been watching a universe thats been "doomed" even before the movies started. The new universe where victor wasn't adopted will have a different tony stark. This theory makes it easier for audiences to let go of 616 and continue watching marvel on a new path. Great theory

This is what I am saying. Not this explicit, but MCU Tony Stark is a Von Doom variant. He invented the TIME PLATFORM, thats famously a Doctor Doom invention. Basically created Doom Bots but gave then Ultron morality (Doom would never program them to do anything but the will of Doom but Stark struggled with his own potential) and both have lost their mother, but Doom had the ambition to reach across worlds to see her. He always was a variant of Doom.

What if…. Howard Stark had an affair with Cynthia, got her pregnant, she tells him or not but he leaves her. She married Werner Von Doom. He knows or doesn’t know that the unborn boy is not his son. Regardless Werner raises Victor Von Doom as his own and loves him. The story continues exactly as in the books of doom except that Victor is Howard’s biological son. Victor meets reed, hates him etc etc. The same 616 story. That’s my hope. This way Victor looks like tony because they are half brothers. Victor can or not find out but the story should stay the same regarding the Fantastic Four and Dr Doom.

I think we’re missing something crucial here. In Endgame, when Tony and Captain America got back to 1971, Howard makes a comment to Tony about the baby he’s expecting’s due date… which makes Tony do a double-take. This is never explained in the movie, so it’s still open for a story line. I think that will be how they explain RDJ as Dr. Doom.

This is long but...this makes SO much sense when you consider the rumors of: (1) Tom Cruise originally being wanted for the role of Tony Stark; and (2) the heavy rumors of him being iron man in the next avengers movies

The MCU is the sacred timeline where Doom/RDJ got to be the hero for the reasons explained in the video; the other Multiversal iron men are played by Tom Cruise.

It's literally art imitating life at that point, and would easily be a story with enough teeth to get RDJ on board. Tom Cruise is a longstanding celebrity with an unblemished record and a perfect life; Hollywood loves him. Meanwhile, RDJ had a rougher upbringing through his abusive father, addictions, prison time, and being rejected by Hollywood through the late 90s/early 2000s -- a stigma he broke THROUGH his role as iron man in the MCU! The MCU was RDJ's sacred timeline.

I agree. When my friends first told me they hated the idea of RDJ playing doom, my first reaction was that he had been Doom all along.

I believe your theory is the best path forward. Break the audiences hearts all over again and make their favorite hero have been someone else all along.
