Honestly, if they go this route it was really dumb for them to announce RDJ playing Doom. It would have been so much cooler for them to go to RDJ for help thinking they're getting another Iron Man, only to find out that this is actually this universe's Doom origin story. It would make that twist so much more of a surprise and a punch to the gut.

One thing, the Russo brothers specifically said RDJ was playing VICTOR VON DOOM, not Tony Stark, like how Chris Evan’s played Steve Rogers and Johnny Storm, two completely separate characters who just look alike. So to me that sounds like it’s going to be the traditional Doctor Doom origin
