Spam is legit. Def not an everyday item, but grilled cheese with a little spam and sauerkraut works. Just remember, it’s a treat, not a staple unless you want a heart attack or stroke

Whoa, you made me realize I’ve never eaten spam in my memory. It just wasn’t a thing where I grew up, so I never thought about it. We had canned fish products like tuna and salmon, but never canned meat for my family. Wait, I do remember my grumpy grandmother being fond of canned ham, but that was included in the “fancy” food gift basket my parents gave to my grandparents for special occasions like Christmas and Easter. We never ate the ham, though, that was just for them, as was intended.

Now I’m curious about spam. What recipes do you recommend? And it looks like there’s a million different kinds of spam. Where should I start? Thank you to everyone who gives a helpful suggestion - I appreciate it.

I would like to do both, please! That plushie is so cute.

My mom loved to make Spam with rice and eggs but we haven't had it in a while.

I'd love to see your take on Spam fries or a Spam stir fry!

Spam was made during the great depression, before it really but it was popularized during the great depression for being cheap meat that last a long time on the shelf.

The U.S government took interest and started using it to feed their troops or allied troops, but the problem is soldiers hated it since the meat came from the pigs shoulder which was lean and chewy.

In the end soldiers just gave it away to locals, that's why in France it's disregarded as dog food.

Spam wasnt meant for feeding war torn countries. It was meant to feed soldiers in those countries.

“war torn countries” Bro it was invented in Minnesota for american soldiers fighting in war. It didn’t hit international shelves until the 80’s. Don’t spread lies lmao
