Drivers on whether California's new gas prices law will work

Drivers in the Inland Empire gave their opinions on whether a new law in California -- which intends to keep gas prices down by putting certain state standards into place -- will actually do what it aims to.

I work in the refinery.
Anything the government touches they break. You watch.
The real problem is in the 80's ca. Had 40 refineries for 20 million people. Now 11 refineries for 40 million people. The reason for shutdowns is to change from summer blend to winter formula. That is why they shutdown.
This bill means out of 100% of fuel to sell, a percent needs to be stored. This automatically will raise the price. Already less supply to the stations.

Dear Gavin, if you mandate reserves, guess what? That restricts fuel deliveries, which, in turn reduces available supply. That will cause fuel prices to rise! Supply and demand economics 101.

The outrageous prices in california are cause by the government because of outrageous taxes and regulations. Adding another layer of regulation won't lower prices. It"s not the spikes that are hurting drivers, it's the everyday prices.

I think the solution is for everyone to buy a massive SUV and abandon small cars. This would for sure reduce the demand on oil. That way they can have enough room to buy groceries they can't afford anymore.
