Sleep Paralysis caught on Camera (again)

My name is Josh, I have sleep paralysis about once a week. If you have it different than me, it doesn't mean that I'm a fake. It just means that you have it different than me. I have it very often and it's very rare someone is able to get me out of it. If you also have SP, I'm sorry for what you have to go through. Also, don't forget to hug your Grandma.

*EDIT 5/4/23*

It seems like the algorithm got this video. It's getting 50k views a day at the time of writing this when it used to get a couple of hundred a day.

I am now 30 years old and I still suffer from sleep paralysis. If you look at my pinned comment from last year, I logged my sleep paralysis and got it over 75 times in 2022. Thats one episode of sleep paralysis for every 4 days of that year. That is an average year for me. I've had it since the first time I could remember at the age of 5. This video is not monetized and no, I didn't "fake" this for self attention. Again, it's impossible to twitch my neck like that when I'm not in SP. I am, however glad this is getting attention to spread awareness to this horrible sleeping disorder. I hope someday that there will be a cure. If any media outlets want to use this video, I'll sign off on any forms, just as I have before. Find a way to contact me (check my other videos). Thanks for all the comments, I'm sorry I can't get to all of them. I'm getting dozens an hour at this point. Be well, don't forget to hug your grandma.

As someone who experiences this, being woken up is the greatest thing that can happen to someone having an episode of sleep paralysis.

*One bad thing is when u wake up from a terrible sleep paralysis but still feel sleepy so you have that fear of getting that paralysis once again.* 🥺

Waking up is such a relief, you literally feel like you’re fighting to get out and it’s exhausting. Especially if you slip back into it before you can get up.

Sleep paralysis is the most scariest feeling ever. Especially having an episode and everyone else is sleep, and they can’t help you. But waking up from it is the best feeling ever.

That comforting from grandma must’ve been the most relieving feeling ever

I think for me, i've experienced the worst sleep paralysis anyone could've experienced. First I've had a nightmare(as usual) and then as it goes on, i had the consciousness, had my eyes opened, can hear things but i can't move a thing, it was so scary cause i can see my family members walk past me, can hear them talk but can't ask for help, along these i can also feel the worst fear ever and imaginary spine-chilling scream-like sounds in my ears, it went on for like 2 minutes and woke up in agony, my neck feeling strained, my limbs numb

The way I get out of sleep paralysis is by breathing very deep and very fast

I only had sleep paralysis once. It was the night after a kid at school died. I was on my back, I woke up and opened my eyes and that kid was standing in the corner of my room. His eyes were wide open and he had no expression on his face. He slowly started walking towards me, and I couldnt close my eyes or move. Once he got right in front of me I was able to close my eyes, I opened them again and the room looked exactly the same but he was gone. I'm shaking right now just from typing this, I wish it wasn't night time 😥

I really hate sleep paralysis. It doesn't matter if you know it's harmless while it's happening, because it will only crank up the intensity until you panic from it, no matter how prepared you think you are.

worst thing about sleep paralysis is that you want to go to sleep but you cant so your worried about going into it, but when its done you want to stay awake but you still feel sleepy

I also had sleep Paralysis every night for a couple of years (not as frequent anymore), and it always started with the loudest noise imaginable, it was like something screaming in my ears, as it got louder it felt like my eardrums were about to explode coupled with a skinny old skeleton man starring at me a couple inches away from my face. I'm always aware that I'm just hallucinating, but it feels so real at the moment that its hard to just ignore it. Also the fact that I can only open my eyes during this (which leads to hallucinations), but can't move any other part of my body. Pro Tip: Laying on the back makes it worse

Seeing his grandma care for him right away reminds me of my own. I miss my grandma. RIP

Also to anyone who’s ever had SP, we can tell this is 100% real.

That’s EXACTLY what it feels like from the inside. Even if you’re staying calm it’s the desperation to wake up. You’ll have like a 2% mobility somewhere you can try to take advantage of.

I felt that part with him trying to scream. Oof.

The best thing I ever learned was that you're less likely to have an episode if you sleep on your side. It never fails, if I sleep on my back it comes knocking.

As scary as it is this is normal. The first time I experienced this I was scared af as I could hear my family talking but couldn't move anything. It happens because your brain doesn't want you moving around while you're dreaming so you don't hurt yourself. Years later and even after knowing this I still get scared in the state of sleep paralysis.
