“Overdosing on information will numb your curiosity.” Hits home on so many levels…

As an Italian, I thank you so much because you made me notice a lot of things that we don't do very often anymore, now I can be more intentional in what I do. Thanks Cole

2:52 As a city planner it’s great to see you talk about how more walkable cities help establish community! Keep up the good work!

That feeling of "going blank" is almost worse than the feeling of having too much on your mind. But it should be taken as a gift, a call to recollect. Take some time to think things over and how to go forward.

i really needed this today. my anxiety also causes me to rush on a regular basis, kind of as a default/baseline. this video reminded me that i haven’t been stopping to look at the little things lately. it’s advice i give to everyone, to look at the tiny details as simple as the joint where two pieces of a handrail are welded together, the connection point of moss on a building or a mushroom on a tree, or the individual grains that make up a small pinch of sand or dirt, or even the stitching on my shirt or coat. it really creates a sense of peace to look at all the tiny things that make up the world and whenever i stop prioritizing looking at these things, i start to get anxious and tense and i start avoiding things that would help me slow down and be at peace. it’s a really important concept to put into practice

My Overview of video:
As we grow old we stop thinking about things and remember about our old experiences and assume.
Actually what we should do is experience the whole thing once again and not assume about a thing, that it is like this and that. This helps us being in the present.

Powerful video! One of the worst things about feeling numb is that you feel so hopeless, pathetic and useless. Like you can't stay focused on one thing and get really upset about it, because you know deep down how bad you feel. You'll try to read or watch something and find it really hard to stay invested in it because you feel so numb.👋

I've realized that the longer time spent on screens, the less enjoyable the present life experience is. Due to that dopamine rush you get when scrolling through reels and photos of other people, or through fighting dragons and saving people in the virtual world, the actual reality becomes relatively boring for you and you get disconnected from yourself- your alive self - which causes this feeling of numbness. No wonder why we keep hearing that staying inside a lot, especially on the screens, is causing us depression. If you're not in contact with reality and enjoyiing- or at least going through the human experience- everyday- lacking a sense of community- lacking a sense of purpose, then it follows that most likely your mental and emotional health will suffer and thus, your mind will activate its coping mechanism

You’re the only person on YouTube that understands and has experienced exactly what I’m experiencing rn, I hope to get out of it soon. Great video and great explanation.

Perfectly timed video, I've been in a daze for the past seeral weeks, feeling pretty depressed and disconnected. I do feel better when I'm more aware of the moment, it's weird that I'm aware of this, but still slip into the back of my mind so often.

It actually doesn´t matter where you are in the world (and yes I´ve traveled extensively), you can have the same in the US if you adapt the same instead of all these hustle, grinding, keeping up with the joneses and so on, we have so much in the US that people don´t stop and smell the roses because of it. Being too busy debating who´s right or wrong politically, religious, things that really DON`T matter. Go to the grand canyon, visit non touristic places there...Anyone thought of Alaska?....That´s what people do from the countries you are visiting.

If you choose to live life with more intention, awareness, and focus, the right teachers will show themselves to you. My life today is barely recognizable to my life a year ago, mindfulness can change everything (while at the same time changing absolutely nothing)

I always feel this when I go cycling to a place I've never been before since you have to navigate to that place and always be alert for any road hazards, the ultimate self-awareness training in my opinion.

Knowledge by experience is quite precious. I like to have a story behind everything I know, rather than just knowing without reason

One thing that I feel like since having graduated college is that my social confidence has decreased greatly. I don't interact with new people and I've almost completely forgotten how to relate on a human level.

Dont think I've had a true genuine connection with anyone outside of my immediate circle for years.

it is crazy how much this video relates to me. i am currently in portugal on a vacation and i have come to the same conclusions you have. the culture and architecture of europe really forces you to live in the present moment instead of in the anxious reality i usually live in. so much detail and thought put into everything. very different from america
