Monsoon saying “will you stop” to Heenan will never get old.

They make it look so real and natural. Two of the best ever at their peak.

When the IC title meant everything! These IC matches were so much better than the Hulk Hogan main event!

33 years later. It still holds up and always will.

"Concerned look on the face of Stu and Helen Hart as they watch..."

"You know why they're concerned? They snuck in, they're scared the usher will..."

"Will you be serious?"

I love it.

Watch this fantastic match and bare in mind Mr Perfect has a horrible back injury. Even with that handicap he still made Bret look even more amazing than he already was. Respect to both men for this classic.

Heenan: “Don’t do that Perfect, don’t touch that ref!”

Gorilla: “Why, a disqualification will save his title.”

Heenan: “Ok, then nail him!”

Gorilla: “Oh sure.”

Heenan: “Drop him like a bad habit!”

Heenan was too funny 😂 😂

I can never get enough of Bret Hart matches.

Whats obvious here in 1991 is that the WWF fans were hugely ready to accept the more technical wrestlers as champions, the Hogans/Warriors etc were clearly still popular but I think it took WWF longer to accept what the fans wanted.

This is the match that made me a Bret Hart fan. Mr. Perfect Curt Henning did a fantastic job putting over Bret Hart. Even with his horribly injured back.

I still have memories of watching this match when I was 6 years old. My parents were kind enough to order this on Pay Per View. I remember hating Mr. Perfect so much because he had held the title for most of the previous 1.5 years and I wanted someone to take it off of him so badly. Bret was the one to do it and he immediately became my favorite wrestler because of it. Fast forward to today, and I now recognize both men for what amazing wrestlers and storytellers they were. Much respect to Mr. Perfect for agreeing to allow Bret to kick out of the perfect plex, too! You rarely saw wrestlers kick out of opponent finishers back in the day, so that was a huge deal.

This is how pro wrestling should be, excellence of story execution, and perfect in every way.

They made everything look real and believable - they make it look like a real wrestling match. And that is an art. An art that's gone missing. Today's matches are littered with "oh come on..." moments. Like watching a fight scene in a movie with bad special effects, acting or choreography - it makes you laugh instead of gripping you. These guys grip you and you get you on the edge of your seat.

Pure class. Talent. What textbook wrestling should be.

Mr Perfect: "Hey Bret go easy on my back eh?"

Bret has said numerous time Perfect was a night off for him as they just fell into a rhythm immediately and he was just so damned safe to work with. They wrestled hundreds of times and many of the dark matches and house shows _were even better_ that what made it on TV. But such is the case a lot of the time. I'm sure he had a ton of matches with Dynamite Kid that were like that. All the right guys respected and appreciated Curt. The Excellence of Execution and the Perfect Worker. The snap of the Hitman's offence and Hennig's incredibly generous selling. The Golden Era of the Intercontinental Title here, when you weren't a giant but a much better technician/athlete. This channel is killing it! Savage-Steamboat and now Hitman-Perfect. Four of the Greats of the IC Title.
