IQ tests do not really measure intelligence because when you look at cognitive ability you can't boil it down to fewer than three components- short term memory, reasoning, and verbal component. Taking that into account, the full range of cognitive abilities tested, researchers found that you must combine all three types of intelligence instead of using one method to obtain one's IQ. IQ tests are not standardized. There's many, many different versions of IQ tests, but they are all supposed to translate roughly the same in the end.


Real intelligence translates. For example, what if it were you to write the intelligence questions- do you think you could write them in a manner that doesn't translate from one test, to another, for people who test well?
