The only way to test intelligence is to show people things they've never seen before and then ask them to figure it out on their own, in this case: to find the pattern.

Everything can be boiled-down to patterns and pattern-recognition when we're talking about intelligence alone... memory and knowledge is an entirely different skill from intelligence that is useful mostly in modern education, but it cannot play a part in an intelligence test if you want an undiluted quota.

I still do not understand how you and so many others can criticize the I.Q. test, because the pattern-recognition-method used by Mensa (among others) is actually highly-logical and is THE ONLY WAY (as far as I am aware) to actually purely imperically measure a being's intelligence.

If you know of a better and more imperial way of measuring intelligence, then you better tell me right now and give good arguments why, or you and every other mensa-critic in here is just going to have to concede that the pattern-recognition-test is proper and imperical and the only way to actually measure intelligence.

Well?
What do you say?

Summarising intelligence to only pattern recognition is crazy, intelligence is complex and multifaceted, you clearly arent very knowledgeable of this topic
