DIY comin' in hot!!
As we're given 6 11/20 here,
Acc. to the trick, we just have to multiply the integer part by 100 and calculate the %age of 11/20 and hence add em' up... So simple, isn't it?
which implies, 6×100 + 11/20×100, which gives us 600+55=655%, which is our answer..

hi, with 91 6/200 to a percentage, if you do this the 'traditional' way and multiply 91 x 200 = 18, 200. Therefore, there must be another step when calculating the mixed number to a percentage. Or, have I made a mistake somewhere. (the other way 91 x 100 + 6/200 x 100 is easy enough = 9, 103%). thanks, Mark.

Not a trick - but just math. You will find this easier. 3 1/4 = 3 + 0.25 = 3.25 (x100) = 325% for me - this is easier as I can do a lot of the fraction part in my head.
