The way he excitedly nods. I love watching a student like that. Excited to be a part of the whole process

Teacher: "How do you know?"
Student: "I was hoping you could tell me, sir."

He DID know. He spent years teaching himself mathematics and was very good at it. He didn't just fall out of the sky..he put the hard work in.

"I don't know.. I just do" is such a beautiful way of saying I don't know why my brain operates like this it just does.

I love the simple humility in that "I don't know. I just do."

From Wikipedia: Srinivasa Aiyangar Ramanujan was an Indian mathematician. Child prodigy, he learned mathematics largely by himself. He worked mainly on analytic number theory and is known for many summation formulas involving constants such as π, prime numbers and the cumulative distribution function.

The thing that floored me in the movie is the cab scene at the end, because it actually happened exactly as the movie shows it. Years later I still can’t get my head around the ability of this man. May he rest in peace.

Ramanujan was a great Mathetician from India. I have read a small story on his life. 'I just do' was never his answer. He always had peculiar and genius way of knowing his answers. Movies just butcher legends, don't they. Read about the taxi number plate story in his death bed (I think). Great Mathematician. Hardy, another British Mathematician introduced Ramanujan to the world. Sort of feels like Sherlock and Watson.

I dislike movies that spread the idea that genius is a magical force that just makes answers appear in your head. It undermines how intelligent these people actually are
