Just tried it and it does work but it’s much harder with a quilt because of the thickness!

It’s genius but I can’t seem to find a single quilt video using this method and I hate seam ripping too much to try it myself 😂😂

Do those of us who are new to quilting, how much do you fold on the bottom before you sew it together?

No, it won’t work for binding a quilt! Nice try though, bc it looks ingenious! But quilt bindings are folded in half bf sewing down. BUT (here’s the problem) the binding must be UN folded bf you stitch on the diagonal. If you e already stitched down both raw edges, you can’t unfold. Too bad, though. 🌷

Yes this is a hack but you also want to sew your strips together before you start attaching them
