How To: Oil Change & Chain Cleaning - 2023 Yamaha R7

We are headed back to the tail of the dragon in a few days, and I needed to perform an oil change and service the chain before we make the trip. It definitely needed it! Not to mention high shop rates that can easily be done w/ minimal skill. Then there is satisfaction of taking ownership of maintenance-

Old school tip in addition to putting a thin film of new oil on the filter gasket- is to fill the filter at least 1/2 w/ new oil. The engine is less stressed- when starting- some people fill all the way if possible w/o waste- just remember to make adj. when topping off quarts etc-

Hey boss, did you spray chain cleaner on the chain rail and rinsed it off, or lifted the chain slightly and gave it a scrub too?
