Oil change. This video teaches you how to change your oil in your car or truck in less than five minutes. Changing oil is cheap and easy. Every 5000 miles you need to change your oil and oil filter. It can save you a bunch of money if you do it yourself and you know it gets done correctly. This is a Ford Ranger but the concept for every car is the same. Drain the oil, change the filter, put new oil in and that is all!

Thank you so much for your videos. I am a 47 yr old woman who knew nothing of mechanics before your videos. I have fixed my own truck with your guidance. Thanks!!

Just changed the oil in my truck today. I forgot to put the drain plug back in and wasted 5 quarts of oil.

I like looking back on your old videos to see how much you improved.

You won't believe that I came here just to check to see which way the oil plug needed to be turned to loosen it. I then heard you say "rightie tightie, lefty loosie". LOL Thanks, bro. Great vid!

Check your capacities in your owners manual to find out how many quarts to put in before adding oil.

One good tip for draining the oil is to ensure the pan has enough room to catch the oil once it's almost done and drips straight down but also far enough that it catches it when it first comes out and shoots out kinda far.

Chris, I just changed my oil in my little work truck. This is the second repair that I learned how to do from your channel. I’m loving learning how to maintain my vehicle! Thank you so much. I have a few hand tools now.

Hey Chris, maybe you could post a video about this. I want to spread the word. After an oil change, if people will take a drill bit or a punch and poke a hole in the back of the oil filter, it will let all the old oil trapped in flow out. You would be very surprised how much comes out, especially on big filters like FL-1A and FL-820s. Every drop of oil we can keep out of landfills the better right?

Great videos! Keep em coming.

YO CHRIS, WHEN YOU HAVE A CHANCE, CAN YOU MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW TO DO A COMPLETE 100% TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGE, FILTER, TORQUE CONVERTER & THE AIR COOLER OIL OUT. I NOTICE MOST MECHANICS ONLY DO 40% OF THE JOB. OIL PAN & FILTER. LEAVING A LOT OF OLD OIL BEHIND

Crazy he used a towel as an air filter! Thanks for the tips! It is tough to fill the oil filter on this car because it is sideways, but I do it on my other cars that have the filter straight up and down. As for using new oil vs old oil as gasket lube, it honestly doesn't make a difference. But good tips none the less..

For these trucks use the recommended oil weight (5w-30). I would try to get an oil that has cleaners for sludge and additives that help the gaskets. Castrol GTX high mileage is pretty good. Use non synthetic unless you have used synthetic before, then you shouldnt go back.
