How to convert an old PC to a GPU Crypto-Currency Miner

Using an old PC is a great way to save money when getting into GPU crypto currency mining. Here are the parts used in this build:

1x Dell Precision T3500 Used PC
Purchase from Ebay for around $100

1x EVGA 1000 Watt PSU / PC Power Supply

3x AMD RX580 GPUs / Graphics Cards
*Note: This GPU is no longer profitable for mining!

* NOTE: This is an older video. I do not recommend using these exact components, specifically the GPUs.

Okay so I don't know how you did it, I have followed every YouTube video out there that helps with building from an old pc, I have upgraded the power supply I have gotten risers I have done everything that every single person has said and yet I cannot get one additional GPU into my old Alienware gaming computer without getting the error power down the PCI cables and graphics cards and nothing I do fixes it. I get the black screen of death if I try and put in any GPU except the one that's in there so I don't know what to do

Surely windows was on the pc where you should have connected the monitor into the back of. Hope you got it sorted anyway.

Never use 4pin or sata power cable for pcie risers. Use 6pin or 8 pin splitter to power gpu and riser.

Could you do a video connecting an old motherboard to a Modern power supply?? I have a motherboard that's not compatible with a Modern power supply, I would like to use the same power supply to power everything, that's the video I'm looking for

Odd, had not much luck with these risers. The Grafikcard connected via PCIE 1.0 Ports and Riser only made 1/3 the Hash Speed of the Primary GPU connected in the PCIE 16 slot. Same thing with an old Win7 PC when the GPU was plugged into the PCIE 16 Slot (only 1/3 Hashrate compared to the same GPU plugged in a new PC)

I have a poor question, , u use another power supply, , are u connected it with motherboard?? What about the first power supply in the case?? I see it inside the case!!!

that happend to me once, went to a computer store they had a comptuer set up, and said it was x price... i paid for it, and they was like.. Do you want the OS also? i was like it doesnt come with it? and their like no thats extra. I was like but the sign said windows 7 came with it. They said ti was a misprint.. So I was like fine, ill still take it, but you can keep the hardrive also, and knock off a 100 or i walk and you can keep it.. thewy guy looked at me angry and I said, Do you want to make the sale or not? He said yea, , I said ok, take the hardrive so I can go. lol In short, shady computer companies will do this. They get the windows key that was already on it, remove the OS, and then recharge you for the windows that was already installed on it.
