Can someone explain to me why Canada is opening up the border when COVID cases are up by 50% in the US and Canada's cases are way down, where the US full vaccination rate is less than Canada's but the US is not ready to let Canadians in? Why won't any reporter talk about how thousands of fully vaccinated Canadians who participated in clinical trials for COVID19 vaccines are not having their vaccination status acknowledged by government (which means they can't travel or do all kinds of other things), even when they are unblinded or have positive S-protein serologies? They tried to help by putting their health at risk for science and now getting shafted by their own government.

Tell the full story, Americans with no vaccine are permitted to enter Canada as well, but must Quarantine for 14 days, but Canada has no system in place to see if they are actually are in Quarantine.

So, what I've gathered over the last year and a half. If you can afford to fly, you're safer and smarter than being able to drive a car. You aren't safe in a barber shop, but you are safe in Costco. And if your home country is starting to get a pandemic under control, it's very safe to open your border to another country that has cases shooting through the roof? Did I get it right?

I think it's too soon. The increases in the US is something to consider before opening the gates. Many Canadians will be nervous and won't go out. I can fore see a really bad winter when a stronger variant comes around.
