My dog doesnt care for treats when I take him on walks. In fact hes zoned into another level of existence and is just on go mode. Its hard walking him.

My dog engages, will ‘wait’, will walk in a lovely manner until he sees people/other dogs. Then, all bets are off and it’s like I’m not there, he ignores treats and any training we’ve done. I would be so grateful to hear any advice about what to do with this as he clearly understands the training and follows to the letter until distracted. Thanks 😊

I find it amazing that so many people don't understand that everything wrong with their dog comes down to engaging with the dog. You see it all the time when out. People being dragged by their dogs and along comes the guy who has actually put in the time and effort with the giant dog who is in a great heel who follows their owner 😂

sometimes we look after our relative's dogs while they go away. if they ever pull on the lead i just stop walking and make them sit, wait a few moments, then continue. Doesn't take long for them to pack it in lol

You can give a look at my English Setters if you want. Stubborn and I've tried this and getting really little attention still. Great videos and lots of really great tips on many things. I love watching these as they're well produced and do have clear advice. Labrador retrievers are certainly more biddable.

Do you have any videos on doing this with a dachshund/small dog? I have always read it’s better to use a harness for small dogs to protect their necks but a harness doesn’t really give much control.

Remember folks all dogs are different if your dog is taking longer to learn dont give up just extend training time or use different methods. I don't use treats because my dog prefers attention.
