My dog (yorkie) was attacked by a neighbor's pitbull that had no leash (go figure right) she was trying to keep its head still from shaking and i wasn't waiting to save my dog so i just punched it in the ribs
The dog let go and yes both dogs survived

The person holding the leash of the dog attacking the other dog didn't even try to pull their dog away or disorient their dog. They just stood there. Poor golden retriever, I hope he was able to survive and heal from his injuries.

i heard from a experienced dog warden that if the dog has a collar you grab the collar and twist it which will also cut off there oxygen supply which will knock them out

If they can't breathe they can't bite. Period. All the people standing around watching this, should NOT be anywhere near dogs. That retriever was begging for human help and intervention.

For the APBT/Bully owner - IF you have an animal aggressive dog, NEVER use a harness. Martingale collars are best, placed just behind the ears. Keep them in a heel position around others. Keep control of the head, keep control of the dog. And shame on you for doing nothing and letting it get that far.

I don’t understand why people cannot see that temporarily knocking your dog unconscious is more human than hitting them and punching them over and over again when they still don’t let go and you can do more damage to the dog that’s getting tossed around as you’re hitting the other dog and kicking the other dog it’s instant to cut off the air supply making them pass out they regain consciousness it’s a lot nicer than breaking the ribs and punching them in the face

It depends, in a situation where a dog is attacking, things are moving really fast, panic ensues, and so forth. Some now do not put a collar on a dog. Even with the leash, you have to be able to move quickly to get that leash around the dogs neck. It’s quite easy to practice these things, and inform, but one never knows what they will do once they are in the situation.

Train your dog, use the right leash, and don't let them walk without one. They're animals, and it's your responsibility to keep them and others safe.

The only way a pit will stop is either by killing it or chocking it out. Simply pull up on the leash until it's passes out or stops. People who have harnesses on their larger dogs are idiots.

And don't forget to sue every single penny from the dog owner after that. I was attacked by dogs as a child and was left scarred for life because of the person who didn't took care of his dogs.
