Stop a Dog Fight Instantly - 'Unlock' a Biting Dog in SECONDS !!

How to 'UNLOCK' a biting dogs in seconds. As a 2 decade long Animal Warden and Animal Cruelty Investigator for a large city with a dog fighting problem I am going to demonstrate here the most effective technique I have found to unlock a biting dog from another animal or person. This technique is highly effective, but also dangerous to the dog involved if held too long. It is known as a 'hard out' to military and police dog handlers. I have used this technique dozens and dozens of times in the field against biting dogs encountered on the job and have developed a good technique for implementing it to maximum effect because of that repetition I have applying it in real world situations. It is much more effective and safer than using a break stick, hitting the dog or lifting up it rear legs. This technique is not used when 2 dogs are actively exchanging bites. It's for when a dog is 'locked' onto another dog or person and refusing to release... which is very common in dog attacks.

I want to first say thank you for sharing this.
I worked at a daycare/boarding facility and after being promoted to management, I decided I needed some resources to train my staff and found your video on a whim.

I ended up needing to use this technique just a few weeks later to save an 8lb Pekingese from the jaws of a 60 lb, very determined pitbull.

This technique literally saved a dog's life.
I cannot thank you enough for demonstrating this. I have shared it with everyone I know who has dogs or works with dogs.
THANK YOU!

My friends BM mauled a little dog, all he had was a choker chain on, no one was getting in to stop the mauling so I jumped on his back and did this, I twisted his choker chain, it was all I could think of...about 20 seconds later he flipped onto his back throwing him and myself about 4 meters away with him landing on top of me. The little dog passed away but I did CPR in car on way to vet and managed to bring him back. His elderly owner was so thankful.
It was horrifying and I was shaking for hours. It brought back ptsd of years back when my neighbors Ridgeback and my Weimaraner got into it inside my house. I was home alone and had both of them around their necks and they had each other's throats.. eventually I got them in between a door and slammed it on them breaking them apart. There is nothing more frightening than a fight till death dog fight.
Thank you for putting up this video.

I want to personally thank you for posting this video. I credit you for saving my puppy's life this morning. I watched this video a few weeks ago and prayed that I would never have to use this. This morning I was out walking my 10-month old boxer Frankie. He's about 65 lbs and a total sweetheart. We walked by this lady's house and she was watering her front yard. I spoke to her and walked by, and then I heard her screaming as her 80 lbs Pitbull came charging towards us (she didn't have her gate completely latched). My dog was on his leash. By the time I turned around the Pit lunged onto my dog's back and tried to lock onto his neck. Without even thinking, as he latched onto my dog, I went for his collar (but he didn't have one). As in your video, you said to use a belt or a leash to wrap around his neck. Unfortunately, I was in my running shorts and I had dropped my leash when I went to grab the other dog (also it was still around my dog's neck). So I remembered the example you gave about how this technique was like a chokehold. I got behind the Pitbull and put him in a chokehold and stood up. Luckily he had a huge neck like a grown man. In ten seconds I threw his limp body to the ground. I didn't kill him, but he was knocked out for a few minutes. Long enough for the lady to put my dog in the back seat of her car while she ran inside to get her dog's collar and leash. He came too shortly afterward and she took him back inside. But that could have been so much worst if I hadn't watched your video. I go over this scenario so much in my head and that's why I was prepared for it. There are so many dogs in my neighborhood that don't get socialized and just get locked up in the back yard. It's sad and I never blame the dog. I blame the owner. Thanks again. I really enjoy your videos!

No frills, no bragging and and endless monologue about how many decorations and prices he did win - down to earth - as the "solution to break up a dog fight" actually is.
Thank you!

I just wanted to let you know that your technique worked perfectly. I was walking my 40-50 lb. dog on a leash and a pit bull ran toward us and latched on to the top of my dog’s head and ears and wouldn’t let go. As my dog was screeching and yelping in pain, I remembered this video and a grabbed the dog’s collar twisted it and lifted the dog off the ground. When I watched this video again after the incident, I see that I could have raised the collar higher under the ears, but in any case the dog did let go in less than two seconds so it worked. Thanks for posting this!

I just wanted to say this video saved my dogs life. Days after watching it my 80 pound Catahoula grabbed my heeler/collie mix by the neck and wouldn’t let go! It was awful. After several attempts to get her to let go I remembered this video and grabbed my catahoula by her collar and choked her out. It saved my other dogs life....
Thank you for the video! I tell everyone because of your video my dog is still alive.

This information came to me a little late. The large scar across my right hand caused by manually prying open the jaws of a crazed dog which was hell bent on tearing our puppy to pieces, right there in front of us, speaks to the need for this kind of knowledge. Thank you!

My Dad taught me this many years ago. He was a police dog handler. Luckily never had to use it, but I've never forgotten lt. So good to see a video showing people exactly what to do. Thank you.

I was once hiking with a group of friends, and one of them brought an old dog with them. We passed by a lady with a dog on a breakaway leash (those are the worst). As she passed, her dog suddenly broke free and attacked our old dog. The owner just stood there, shocked. My friend took the leash attached to her dog and wrapped it around the neck of the other dog and did what is demonstrated in this video. Stopped it almost immediately. Probably saved the old dog.
The other dog's owner got so angry at her for doing this. She was watching her dog attack this old dog (the dog was 12 years old) and got mad that it was stopped the way it was. She called the police even. She was the one who got into trouble, luckily. The old dog did have a few significant bites, though, and two months later passed away. It troubles me that my friend feels that the attack brought about her death sooner than later. Maybe it did. It's horrible.
Anyway, this is great advice and truly does work. I've seen it in action and it really stopped the attack instantly.

That was a really informative video. I saw something like this on my daughter's lawn where two dogs were going at it. I had no idea what to do. A police officer just happened by and he calmly walked up, did your Technique and the dogs stood up after a few seconds and went home. It worked like a dream. The onlookers were screaming making it worse but the cop knew exactly how to do that. Probably a K-9 cop. I was impressed

Thanks mate. I've been attacked three times recently by local dogs while I walk my two rescue dogs, both have three legs and we get targeted by aggressive dogs with irresponsible owners. I'm 67 with two hip replacements but Im not going to stop walking my two because of idiots and their poorly loved dogs. Thanks from New ZeALAND!

I just stumbled onto this video via YouTube's algorithm and can't thank you enough for showing this. I've been working with dogs for 40years and in particular working with a rescue for large and quite literally dangerous dogs. The leader of the organization was Vietnam K-9 Trainer who first taught how to properly use a choke collar - admittedly, it's not pretty and not for the weak of heart or stomach. Yet to his credit, with over 100 dogs we NEVER lost a single dog, never had a single one have to be put down and all but 5-6 were able to be re-homed with families with children or other dogs. The 5-6 that could not went to farms or places with strong handlers (men and women) who gave them good loving homes but firm structure they needed. While an active member of a German Shepherd club we almost never have encounters as the dogs are so well socialized and always kept leashed (Unless in off-leash training classes to which they have proven mature and stable training.) And TY for referencing using a belt or improvised object... it's not unlike a tourniquet, the options from tearing a shirt to a belt are all around you. I always carry an extra leash or collar in my truck, very often carry an extra leash if I'm going for a walk where there may be loose dogs and sadly, I NEVER go to dog parks as there are simply too many people too irresponsible. Even though I've got a large male German Shepherd... I don't want him to harm someone else's smaller dog that attacked him. Again, TY for sharing this. I will be bookmarking and sharing with many new dog owners/handlers.
