Learn how researchers found a way to stop #migraines in 10 minutes!

Hey migraine sufferers! If you're tired of being held hostage by the throbbing pain of migraines, you're in the right place. In this video, I'm going to tell you the inexpensive and drug free methods one study used to completely stop migraines in 99 percent of participants including a short cut to stopping migraines in 10 minutes. These simple strategies helped 647 people bring their migraines down to zero which means it can work for you too. They were able to stay migraine free as long as they followed the protocol and were able to get off their migraine medications. I’m Dr AJ Ludlow and I believe in using natural methods and finding root causes as much as possible to help ourselves heal and live a pain free life.

Now, let’s talk about how to stop your migraines. This study and the methods used are based on the finding that migraine sufferers excrete 50 percent more sodium in their urine than non-migraine sufferers which should be a big clue as to what is causing the migraines. When the brain is low in sodium it affects how electrical signals are sent. Low sodium may also be responsible for the blood flow changes that happen in the brain right before a migraine starts.

Migraine sufferers are also believed to have high nervous system sensitivity leading to higher levels of brain activity. This higher level of brain activity means more sodium is needed and the fact that they are peeing out more sodium creates a problem. Another factor is glucose, which comes from carbohydrates, like sugar. When we consume carbohydrates it causes a further decrease in sodium causing more electrolyte imbalance.

This study was done based on this concept that low sodium and high carbohydrate diets lead to migraines. It included 650 people who suffer from migraines. They had them follow a diet protocol which had them increase their salt intake to 30-50% above the maximum USDA amount of 2400 milligrams per day, increase water intake and decrease carbohydrate intake. They also worked to keep a specific ratio of sodium and potassium. They also eliminated all sweeteners from their diet and most calorie containing drinks, but they allowed 1 cup of coffee per day.

Amazingly, of the 650 participants, 647 or 99.5% were able to stop each individual migraine of all types within the 6 months study period and they remained migraine free. That’s pretty amazing.

Another very interesting finding was at the end of the study they had all the participants indulge in a sugary candy or dessert after they were fully migraine free. This caused a migraine in EVERY. SINGLE. PARTICIPANT. Without exception. Then, to stop the migraine they had them take 1/8th teaspoon of salt with only a sip of water and it stopped the migraine within 10 minutes.

There are a few key points from this study that can dramatically improve your migraine situation. First is that lowering carbohydrate intake can be very helpful in reducing migraines.

Second is that increasing water intake is very helpful. We all know this right? But 99% of the study participants were not drinking the recommended amount before the study even though I’m sure they knew they should be drinking more water too.

Third is that if you have migraines you probably have a higher need for salt intake. According to the research you probably pee out more salt and therefore need to take in more to replace it. 30 to 50 percent more than the USDA recommended amount was used in this study.

I recommend using pink Himalayan salt, or Celtic sea salt which will give you the benefit of more healthy minerals. You can even sprinkle some in your water and drink it through out the day, you won’t even taste it.

I don’t recommend increasing your salt through fast food, chips or other processed foods. They are very salty but will not have the same effect.

One of the coolest things about this study is the short cut they used to stop the migraines after they ate sweets. All they did was take 1/8th teaspoon of salt in a small amount of water, just a few sips. And the migraine was gone within 10 minutes! This is so easy and so cheap to try and it can change your life. I’ve started recommending it to my patients with great success so far.

My son regularly stops his oncoming migraine with Potassium and water. Salt actually makes his migraines worse.
