a tip for deckbuilding is that if you already have a collection, go through your stuff first and pull out cards you think will work well. You can always save money by using things you own vs. buying singles

I was literally putting my first deck together when I got the notification for this video.

Prof, I'm a longtime player and basically knew all of this. But that doesn't stop me from watching and loving your content! So well laid out, articulated, and produced. I really wish content like yours had existed when I started playing. Bravo as always :)

Your old mana base and Sygg, River Guide videos helped me construct my first commander deck, Oviya Pashiri (Now Nylea) when I was in middle school. So I’m glad to see more beginner commander content from you prof. <3

"Whilst it's fun to run some beatstick creatures...we want most of our creatures to have a utility or effect beyond just smashing face."
"...But I play Boros."

These videos are always welcome. As someone who has 8+ decks, it's always useful to remind ourselves how to build properly.
Btw, favorite self built deck is Kaseto, Orochi Archmage. Current project is Queen Marchesa with her kingdom of humans

This video was very useful for me. I've used EDHrec in the past without knowing the extra features explored in this video, and found my deck hard to individualize. Thanks to this I'm exited to use the include/exclude feature to tweak my decks!

Thanks for this Prof! One of my friends just got into Magic and wants to build his first commander deck!

Deck building by and large has been the most intimidating part of learning how to play, so this video has been extremely helpful, along with the bulk of all the other videos that you've put out, so thank you and please continue to do what you do

I have been playing edh for more than a year now, and most of this was things I sorta knew. A year ago, I couldn't find anything like this, so I had to learn this the hard way. I'm glad that new players will have this guide handy, since it'll spare them of a lot games, realisign there's "something wrong" with their build.

"As many now, EDHRec stands for EDH Recomandations..."
Me, who firmly believed it was about EDH Records: "ah".

I've made hundreds of decks over the years but still found myself drawn to watch this because I love Prof's videos.
The explanation on EDHREC turned out to be pretty engaging for me. I always had a mild understanding of how it worked but the extra explanations helped me.

This was super helpful! I've been putting together decks that ran top heavy (and neither myself or the people I picked up magic from had the greatest grasp on the game or rules). So having some number to aim at for the content of a deck is very much appreciated.

As a newer player who is absolutely hooked already, thank you so much for your concise and incredibly helpful and knowledgeable content!! Hats off to you good sir!

I love that breakdown with the numbers at the end.

You’re awesome! Thanks for all the videos! I’m just getting back into magic for the first time in about 21 years and your videos are really helping me grasp the evolution of the game and current mechanics. Much love!

This came at the perfect time! I’ve been teaching a friend via magic arena for about a month now, and he recently asked about commander/ brawl.

Seriously, Professor, this video is one of your best. It's dense with digestible information, and easily explained and thought out. The graphics and animations are polished to a mirror shine. 11/10.
