Beginners Guide: How to pick your first kit and build it

In this series I will build the Academy 1/72 F4U-1 Corsair using only supplies easily available in art stores and stationary shops. I will also go through some pointers about how you can pick the first kit you want to build.

Hello there fellow model makers. I know that the title of this video is slightly misleading. It should clarify that this is for airbrush beginners. Thank you. Too many tutorials for 'beginners' out there assume that the person has already gone all-in on tools and materials. It was nice seeing one that showed people that you can make due with what you have (airbrush aside.)

It was also well organized - you actually taught the most basic information first, then each element built on earlier elements. Many tutorials fail to do this, and try to build on techniques that the viewer doesn't actually know.

As a (former) professional writer who specialized in how-to manuals, this was very well done.

The video is good. But I think that a beginner modeller don't have an airbrush.i think that it would be better if you showed the beginners some brush painting technics.

Interesting video. I've been building models for most of my life but I never thought of using oil colors in the airbrush. I guess an old dog can learn new tricks after all. ;-)

I used to do this in my childhood. I loved to do it, but they were never very good. Been thinking about getting back into it now that I'm an adult. I remember having each and every one of these questions but having no one to ask. even the library was devoid of sources for beginners. thanks for posting these videos. What got me thinking is a recent trip to an air museum. The reference from those planes is a resource most model hobbyists would drool over.

for those who don't know the library was like the internet only instead of using email and electronic servers with AI search engines they had snail mail only, actual living people and a catalog of books printed on a rolodex. not even going to try to explain that one.

The first kit I bought getting back into the hobby was an airfix Quick kit. They are pretty cheap and if you make a mistake it is not that bad.
