Utilize the laundry service. Paying to have some laundry done is worth not having to lug around more bags.

I've fine tuned my packing over the years. I'll never be able to go with just a carry-on but I've controlled the over packing! I have a list of outfits with accessories on my computer that I keep as a base for the next cruise. What I did this year was lay out my outfit, shoes, purse, and jewelry and take a picture of it on my phone and just referred to it on the cruise. Doing this I'm more aware of items that can be interchanged with other outfits. My days of 10 pairs of shoes are a thing of the past. 😅

Just came back from a 7 night cruise to Bermuda on Norwegian. I brought one large suitcase for my clothes and a carryon for shoes, makeup and the supplies that you recommend to organize the cabin (like magnets, hanging pocket organizer, pop up hamper, beach bag). I probably could have managed with two carryons, because I didn't need as many outfits. Next cruise I am going more for comfort rather than trying to look so fashionable. We honestly never ran into the same people twice, and even if we had....so what. No one but me cared what I was wearing. I am definitely only bringing one dress or fancy dinner outfit next time. White or a dark wash jeans and a pretty top would suffice for dinner. I have to say though, thank you for your advice on how to organize the cabin. I had all our sunscreens, supplies like pens, pads, sunglasses and sanitizers, etc hanging on wall. And hats on the magnetic clips too. I used your cruise guide printouts and was so organized on Embarkation Day, that the NCL agent called out to the crowd on line to show them how I had my documents ready. I didn't mind being teachers pet LOL.

I’ve got that tingling, and not in a good way, feeling about my Alaska pre-packing. Time to filter out more items! Thanks Sheri!

Love this video. I feel like you watched me pack for my past cruises. I am such an overpacker. Gotta use these tips for my next cruise.

I swear I need a packing intervention 🤣 It's not necessarily the clothes I overpack, it's all the extra stuff. But, we almost always use it all which makes it tough.
We tried SO hard to pack only 1 suitcase each for our 14nt B2B to Alaska, but we ended up with 1 large and 3 medium + a carry-on for pop/wine.

My last trip I packed less T-shirts because I always buy one or two

Pack an outfit in your carry on in case they “gate check” your other bag and loose it. I’ll be buying air tags so I know where my stuff is!!!

I find that I don’t wear my more dressy clothes. If you had a busy day I find the last thing I want to do in the evening is get all dressed up in uncomfortable clothes.

I am always the person with something left over that I didn't wear.

Last cruise I managed to get it down just just 1 or 2 things and I did make note of that. I finally stopped lying to myself and packing workout clothes which, while not a huge part of my packing, is one less thing I'm not wearing. I also try to condense my "oh no maybe I'll get chilly" coverup to be universal for all my outfits, including formal night.

Working on cutting down on toiletries and makeup next.

Great tips!! I actually had the opposite issue on my last cruise. I packed just barely enough and wished I’d given myself a few more options. So I’ll be packing a few more outfit options for my next cruise.

Hey Sheri! Always good to get tips from you on packing but it would be great to have a refresher from a guys standpoint from Mr. CT TV. He has some mad packing skills. In fact when we first started cruising You had a segment on him packing and it started me on my way to what I do now. I actually have a Shack Pack that stays packed with 7days worth of shirts and shorts sets. Yes in one Shack Pack don't judge me. 😅..I'm always 70% packed for any Caribbean cruise.😎😁

I drive to ports, in our mini van, and I am a HUGE overpacker.
I have a giant suitcase with a duffel bag, backpack and cross body purse.
All for Me!!!
Even For 3-4 night cruises or theme park trips.
I need help or an intervention. But I like options and cute outfits for different things. I also change 2-3 times a day. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m here for tips, ideas or just a wake up call.

separate belief that you CAN'T OVERPACK if you live close enough to drive to your port.

Great video! Topher and I tend to be pretty on the mark with our packing. This past cruise, I packed way too much and had outfit combinations that I didn't use...but I'm thankful I did because my cruise was extended due to COVID quarantine and being out in the middle of the Pacific when I was out of quarantine. That overpacking saved me from having to send laundry out for that additional week I wasn't planning on.

Clothes aren't a problem for me. It's trying to cut back on the amount of toiletries and medicine I take. That stuff can add a lot of weight fast.

I read somewhere that the rule to packing for a cruise is to lay everything out that you want to take and remove half of the items. I also definitely use packing cubes.

I've been cruising since 1996. There's no such thing as over packing. I typically take cruises that are 10-14-28 days. I like to have clothing choices. Two suitcases and a carryon. Never over the airline weight limit. I don't trust ships laundry with my good clothes. Happy cruiser here.

I definitely do the outfit matchng and try to leave it at that then I look at my clothes and think that maybe I will need a few spares and then it definitely gets out of hand. Scared I will want to wear something I didn't pack! Great tips Sheri and I will watch this again before my next cruise. 💕
