But dentist advice and tell you that removing your Invisalign ( sorry spelling) that if you remove it can ruin your treatment. Only time your allowed to remove is while your eating or drinking soda.

It does make sense, same reason why for a lot of contact sports, you might be advised to get a mouth guard if you have braces since you can get hit in the face and it can break the brackets and wires and cut up your mouth, or even knock your teeth out if you get hit hard enough. With something like basic training for the army though, you can’t just head to an orthodontist or even a regular doctor though, and if you end up with infected wounds in your mouth, it could potentially kill you if it gets too bad. They don’t want to deal with that.

I learned once that if you have braces in the army, it can be considered as a disability since it prevents you from doing things. If you get sent out for war or stuff like that and your braces broke, you wouldn’t have proper care of it.

My senior drill instructor had braces while I went through boot camp. Kind of a crap argument not letting recruits have braces when the drill instructors are doing the same stuff as the recruits.

My cousin is going into the military next year, he used to have braces but he got them off about a year or so ago so he doesn't have problems with that which I think fits pretty well into the fact that it's next year!
