I lived in Honolulu HI from 1980 - 1991. It was different back then. I was blessed to be there during that period. Honolulu was a much better place. Waikiki was THE party spot. Now Waikiki is full of stores. They closed the party strip. Homeless are everywhere in Waikiki. That is something you rarely saw. I travel to Hawaii often. However, I only visit Maui or Kauai. Honolulu breaks my heart. I'm considering moving to Maui for retirement. I know it's more expensive now. But this time I'm prepared. I will be purchasing my new home on a cash basis.

WOW- my last time in Hono was '85 and I was renting a one bed rm $350.- mo.. up in Menoa past the university- v. convenient! Yet through the years I married a Filipina from southern Philippines and thats where I now find myself- rent $125- for a one bed rm. and another $500 for food and entertainment. Granted the Philippines isn't Hawaii but I make do!

Hey Ryan! Great content! I'm learning how to make YouTube videos. What software are you using when you superimpose yourself into the screen while sharing your browser? Thanks!

Does any of these changes make you reconsider living in Hawai’i?

Hey Ryan . How is job market in this economy. Are a lot of stores n employers still hiring? Our Wisconsin energy bills to increase 18% next month it’s the crazy energy policies pushed all over the world. I’m just waiting to see what happens with the election and war front before making decisions. Realistically I’m 6mo out from making the jump I figure. Wife n I may do a winter pre trip to look for rentals and job outlooks. We make decent income but will probably have to live like college kids again for our taste of paradise. Thanks for videos

As an outsider, I have an impression that Hawaii now need different governing peoples. Not from the big old PC crazed 'D'.
