Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Gather all the necessary tools and materials, park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. To start, add some oil system cleaner to your oil. This will help remove sludge and contaminants from the internal surfaces.
3. Jack up your vehicle, place axle stands securely under the vehicle and use wheel chocks for added safety.
4. Locate the sump plug on the underside of the engine, which is typically a bolt-like object.
5. Position an oil drain pan directly beneath the sump plug to catch the old oil.
6. Using an appropriate wrench, carefully loosen the sump plug, ensuring that the oil drains directly into the pan.
7. Allow the old oil to drain completely, ensuring you have caught all the oil in the pan. Once the oil has drained, remove the old oil filter using an oil filter wrench. Be cautious of any remaining oil in the filter which might be hot.
8. Take a new oil filter, lubricate its gasket with a little fresh oil, and hand-tighten it in place.
9. Clean the sump plug and reinstall it, ensuring it is properly tightened.
10. Open the hood and locate the oil filler cap.
11. Pour the recommended amount and type of fresh oil into the engine through the oil filler cap. Securely tighten the oil filler cap.
12. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, allowing the new oil to circulate.
13. Turn off the engine and check the oil level using the dipstick. Add more oil if necessary.
Clean up any spilled oil, dispose of the old oil and filter responsibly,
