Dragon Squat 🐉. (It’s a show, not show off) 😊🙏
It’s a very clever integrated dynamic movement.
It’s demand mobility and strength on hips, ankle and knee joints or you can do it to improve or check these joint’s mobility and strength: this is a beautiful dynamic movement.
But more than this, DS demands “Understanding” in collaboration of strength, mobility and timing.
.
By doing this, my goal is to increase the understanding and awareness by putting my joint in various position, not only Dragon Squat itself.

It is a part of my research for my upcoming project “The Bamboo Leg”.

I do not do it as a workout. I do it as a trick, sometimes during the week or months. In various ways - regression, progression, static hold etc. .
There are benefits and disadvantages about this movement as another. Whether I am showing the possibilities to do, but I am not recommending to do it as workout.
Remember It’s not about only physical health but mental also, movement and research.

You can try it to learn if uou are enough aware and prepare and not very new to training.

Perfectly executed. Thanks for sharing, it's really helpfull. I train dragon squat by lowering falling down and get back up with some assistence from my arm and resting leg for balance.

There's only one reason to do this and it's to say you can. This movement could end up causing permanent damage to a number of different joints, tendons and nerves. It's an impressive video and I am glad you warned against performing this.

I have tried this before. The nerve in my knee " dislocated " so basically It got stuck in wrong position. It has happened to me couple times before as well. It hurts like hell but you just gotta try to slowly straighten your leg and wait for it to pop back in place. One of the painful things ever. The pain is way worse than a broken bone that is for sure. Thankfully it hasn't happened to me for over a year now. I have felt the nerve move a couple times when I did an exercise similar to this but it didn't dislocate which was good.

So I love squats, and I love anything for functionality and finding out where my weaknesses are in terms of balance, precision, coordination, etc. but for this type of squats…I’m gonna need to warmup my everything, including my soul cause I’m going to feel it

Hey! It’s just a great way to tear the meniscus. Not everyone can perform this insane movement. I’ll just stick to the basics, squats, lunges, leg presses etc!👍🏾
