If you have 30k to spend on a toy, it's worth it. If you don't, it's not.

As a former pricing analyst, I can tell you this: very simply, the reason they are so expensive is because people are willing to buy them at that price. I would bet that the margins they make on the way more expensive machines are greater than the older ones.

I just bought my first side by side, a 2019 RZR XP 1000. I paid $17, 000 out the door for it and after 3 days of riding, I say it is expensive but I have had a blast riding with my wife. I am 45 years old and am a far cry from rich. It is all about choices for me. I drive a 2004 rusted out Dodge so I could afford my new toy. So far I don't regret spending the cash and would recommend buying one to anyone.

People pay 20k and 30k for boats all the time. No one complains “I can’t drive it down the street.” Or “I have to trailer it everywhere”

I’ve had my turbo S for about two months now and don’t regret it at all. This machine pulls my family together to ride places that have NO CELL SERVICE!! truly have fun together and build memories that will last a lifetime.

30k for the best rzr or 30k for the worst jeep

They are expensive because you want them, you don't need them.

Been motorcycle riding and camping our whole lives, 40+ years, bought a RZR this year a little skeptical, but excited and it's the best damn money we've spent. Went out Thanksgiving weekend and didn't even ride our bikes. The RZR is an absolute blast and something our entire family enjoyed. Worth every single penny!

I thought the prices were ludicrous until I spent 10 minutes behind the wheel of a turbo s at speed yeah I am HOOKED!

If you think SXS’s are overpriced for what they are... I recommend you step into a Harley dealership. 30-40+ thousand dollars for (their high end) motorcycles....

This comment is geared more for certain people, you know who you are. I’ll spend what I want to spend it’s my money, I’m not asking you to pay for it so 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️. I love utvs quads and jeeps. But I choose to drive a sxs off-road instead of a Jeep. I like to go as fast as possible off-road.

I am from a motocross background. Raced for years on bikes and quads. Oh and I had the three wheelers back in the day (really showing my age here). I have had lifted offroad trucks also. So anyway I got a utv in 2016. I bought a RZR xp1000 turbo. Then here in early 2018 I bought a Ranger XP900 H.O. crew lifted 6 inches. I got my rzr to have fun on jumps and fast riding. Being older got something with a roll cage. I use the ranger for working around our property. While I do not like the high cost of these units. I do feel as though they cannot be compared to a truck or jeep. Simply just built very differently. I live in a rural area so I do travel on public roads for short distances. Usually within two miles of my shop. I do have a bragging story in which I am probably one of the few people that has taken their active county sheriff for a 70mph ride on a public road because he asked me "show me what this thing will do".

These are fun to drive, but You missed some big points on why these are so expensive: DEALER PROFIT, DISTRIBUTOR PROFIT, & MANUFACTURER PROFIT. I am in manufacturing and i can tell you $30k is way over the cost of parts and labor to assemble (and warranty costs). Also, This is nothing like a trophy truck - period. They both have 4 wheels and some suspension travel, but thats about it.

These aren’t exactly sitting on lots, turns out they often price things for what the market is willing to pay.

I picked up a 2015 RZR 900 4 seater with 2200 miles for $12.500. You can't compare any large 4x4 vehicle to a side by side. Side by sides are much more fun. You can go a lot more places than you ever will in any jeep. Mine is street legal and I can go nearly a month before filling up the tank. It's a great machine to take to work, and it sure as hell beats the fuel my truck uses. RZR's all day long baby!
