That was real actual pepper spray
But that’s no regular dog
He is a DETROIT URBAN SURVIVAL TRAINED DOG.

I've managed to stop dogs attacking me. It's all about the stance, and demeanor. You just need to act like they are not even important to you. It confuses them. The weird thing is, the looking away works with fearful dogs.

But, I've locked eyes with super aggressive/dominant dogs before. They have always backed down. I ended up staring at them, and they just... stopped. Still barking, and stuff, but they stopped advancing. They looked away, and after a bit, they then laid down. I didn't mean to stare at them. But when the looking away didn't work and they kept coming, I ended up staring them down. I never feel scared at those times. I had martial arts training since I was 7. I am very sure, that I can handle ANY situation thrown at me. Doesn't matter what it is. I will handle it. Knowing that you CAN deal with whatever occurs, is a big part of staying confident in emergencies. It makes you make smarter, more logical choices.

I just... go really cold and calm. The same thing has happened with other emergency or dangerous situations. I've seen other people try the same staring thing. The dog just went for them. I have a psychosis, though, maybe that makes a difference? Maybe my smell changes or something because of it. Or maybe because I literally don't smell like I am afraid? I really don't know. But it works with people, too. I look at them, steadily, and they decide against doing anything dumb. Unless they are very high on drugs/very drunk. Then, all bets are off.

I'd definitely never advocate for anyone to stare at a dog, because it is a direct challenge to them. I totally agree that looking away, keeping your arms in, and in front of you, is the correct method. You need to be ready to stop the lunging for your limbs, throat and thighs. The thigh, particularly, because of the femoral artery. Dogs can do a lot more damage than people realise, especially if they are a larger breed which has a trait of locking their jaw.

If they do lock on to you? Go for the eyes, I have found, works. People usually freak out, and start screaming, whacking the dog randomly to get it off. Dig a thumb deep into their eye, and apply pressure. It is not pleasant, but if it means you will survive, you have to do it.

My Glock 43 was the right tool for the job last year when a neighbors pit bull tried to attack me, in my yard! He should have had more control of the dog. I’m not going to walk around everyday having to worry about being attacked by a dog, or anything else. I carry that Glock for protection against robbery or other dangerous situations where it’s fitting. It was fitting against the dog since my efforts to make it leave and stop its aggressive lunges towards me was unsuccessful. Dogs like that can cause very serious injury or death. People need to learn to have better control of their animals!

I was just attacked by a HUGE German Shepard completely defenseless! He bit off the top part of my thigh but didn’t do any further damage because I stood my ground and keep my hands and face away from him. He lost interest thankfully

Thank you for the tip. Being an Amazon driver for 3 years I've been always cautious when encountering a house with a dog. I've had Close Encounters but this video will go a long way when and if I do encounter a dog face to face. So thank you❤

When i was a sophomore in high school i had a pit lock on my foot once, i punched it in the nose and it let go but at the time I was with my younger cousins that were in 7th grade and had no survival skills so I had to choke it out, I'm a huge dog lover so when we got home I sorta cried because I thought I killed it 😭 luckily I didn't because I saw it had a owner the next day I was walking to school and noticed that it had pups so she could've just been protecting them.

I just punched a German shepherd a few days ago. He came at me so I calmly socked him. He didn't like that one bit. He ran like a coward

I was bitten by a dog the other day. I did everything in this video except I listen to some old knowledge where it said to walk away and ignore the dog and that was my mistake. You have said it best that you keep the eye contact you don't break and you don't turn your back.

Always keep eye contact
The moment you take your eyes of a dog he will attack you
And if he attacks you try and grab its tongue

Did you just actually sprayed him/her with pepper spray?!?!?
