Today, we 'll be taking a look at the Corsair MP700 PRO SE PCIE Gen5 x4 SSD. It's available in 2TB or 4TB capacities, and utilizes the Phison E26 SSD controller, along with Micron's 232-Layer 3D TLC NAND chips.

It supports the latest PCIE 5.0 technologies and NVMe 2.0 interface, to give you high-speed data transfer and best-in-class performance.

The MP700 PRO SE comes with a SATA-powered integrated air cooler, which helps to cool the SSD and prevents it from throttling.

It offers a jaw-dropping Sequential Read speed of up to 14,000 MB/sec, and a Sequential Write speed of up to 12,000 MB/sec.

Would have been nice to know the temperature of the NVMe during the test and in idle, as well as info on the fan. Does it have the same fan speed all the time, is it ramping up when the temperature increases? What is the noise level of the fan? You´d add more value by including all these figures, rather than just proving the write and read speed Corsair claims for their product.

PCIe 5x4 offers around 31.5 GB/s while PCIe 4x16 provides 64 GB/s.
A PCIe 5x4 only reaches about half the bandwidth of a PCIe 4x16 due to the difference in lanes and generation speed.

I hope the fan connector could be the 4-pin so the fan speed could be controlled by the motherboard.

They also sell this thing without the heat sink as well.

Can you even run this thing with the version that doesn’t include the heat sink? Can the motherboard own heat sink handle the version without the heat sink if you buy that one?

My motherboard has a lot rgb’s that runs through the motherboard and removing the cover that hide the M.2 slot will disable the Rgb’s in the board.

That’s why I would buy the version without the heat sink. But will the motherboard own heat sink be able to handle this SSD?

Hi, I have a couple of questions to ask you, can I put this MP700 PRO on an X670E Hero ? The other question is, can I put 2?
