TRANSCRIPT
Sometimes when you make hummus from scratch the beans can create a gritty texture. The way to avoid that is to add a teaspoon of baking soda for every pound of dry garbanzo beans. If you use dried instead of canned you're going to get a much more buttery hummus. Soak them eight to twelve hours. Rinse them off and then boil them for an hour and fifteen minutes. Blend with any of your favorite hummus recipes and you have hummus as it should be. Creamy, buttery, delicious, and you can eat it with anything.

I think I've tried from scratch at least 10 times. I just can't get it as smooth as from the can not to mention its so easy no heating and just use a stick blender. I will give it one more shot although I think I tried this method allready.
The only way mine ever came out decent from scratch is when I tediously removed the skins off every bean its a lot of work. Trader Joes sells Organic BPA free canned chick peas for $1.30

I love how on YouTube even videos about making hummus are riddled with sexist comments. Oh no wait, I hate that.

I always used dried garbanzo beans. We don't boil the beans we soak them overnight and use the processor to grind them into puree.

Cooked hummus? Gross!!

Hummus is literally "chick peas" in arabic. That's your problem. I have never in my entire life seen anyone make Hummus with garbanzo beans. don't do what this woman said. Hummus is chick peas and Tahini, thats it!
