07 - Compiling Our First Program Using Eclipse IDE

In this lesson, you will learn how to compile java code using the eclipse IDE. This is the environment where we will be compiling all of our java programs in this course.

I'm starting a university course which uses Java. As a Python user who's always programmed in IDLE, suddenly using a Java IDE was super confusing. You've cleared it all up for me, and I'm much less nervous about it all now. Thanks!

For anyone confused with the package issue, make a package called "main" and define in the .java you're writing on line 1 write what I put in the parentheses but WITHOUT the parentheses themselves. (package main;) and then if it asks if you want to move your .java to the newly generated package, select yes. That's what worked for me.

When I create the Java Project, I have a file in the src folder called module.info.java, and when I create the class, I have an error on line 1 saying: Error occurred during initialization of bootlayer. Package in both module jrt.fs and module java.base

You can also type "Syso" CTRL + Space Then type Enter to autowrite "System.out.println("");"
